FRIDAY CLASSES
Fall Session - October 11-November 15 2024. 9:30-4:00 (come 10-15 minutes early to set up). $330/all 6 or $60/class paid in advance, $70 paid at time of class (payment reserves your place). All skill levels from beginners to advanced. Focus: Pouring Watercolor - we will pour successive layers of diluted watercolor while masking fluid saves lighter areas. With this exciting technique we will see the wonderful effects and colors we get as we watch the paint flow and mix, creating effects we can never get with a brush. This is a fun and exciting process. This technique helps us to see value and shapes, important skills. We will also continue to learn brush and paint handling skills because after the pouring is done, direct work is used to complete paintings. Drawing and inspiration are included. Christmas Card Class: Thursday, November 21, 2024 and Friday, November 22, 2024. 9:30-4:00 (come a little early to set up). $75, Payment reserves your place. Beginning to advanced students. This class is so much fun - we play and experiment, making lots of little paintings for Christmas cards, which people love to get. And doing lots of paintings helps our skills grow. Winnie will guide the class through 1 or 2 cards to get our creative juices flowing. Glitter added at the end adds sparkle and performs magic on cards that don't meet our expectations. WATERCOLOR JOURNALING - Limoux, France April 26-May 10, 2025 and August 23-September 6, 2025 Join Winnie Givot for a Painting Retreat in Limoux in the Languedoc region of France. Our days will be filled with painting, drawing and writing in our watercolor journals as we explore this beautiful area, seeing more deeply through our art. Whether you are an experienced painter or a beginner, this will be a delightful and inspirational, even transformational experience. Our host, Chris Georgas, will take us on day trips. Places may include ancient villages, castles, and cave paintings along with other wonderful sites. Some days we will paint at Le Monastere (our home there) and at other places in Limoux, a charming town. Many afternoons will be free for rest, relaxation, painting, and exploration. Winnie will give daily lessons and individual help. This is an opportunity for art immersion as we play with color and texture, with composition, writing and page embellishments, while connecting with the beauty around us. There will be lightheartedness and musings in our journals and our days. In the evenings we will eat exceptional meals specially prepared for us at restaurants or by Chris’ wife, Fabienne.
