Floral

Flowers are one of Winnie's favorite subjects. She  delights in their colors, forms and vibrancy. She generally paints them them from life instead of from photographs which don't capture the vibrancy, colors or values of the actual flower. Often one flower at a time is painted, for most flowers  are constantly changing. While she especially enjoys painting flowers from her own gardens the season is short. And the deer love roses. Those bouquets purchased in the winter when all is gray or buried under snow bring her such joy that she has to paint them. She has been known to purchase up to 3 bunches, as each wilts,  before a painting is finished.
